The sociologist and cultural scientist Andreas Reckwitz talks about experiences of loss, the resulting legitimacy problems and how society can deal with them.
Thursday, 03. April 2025, 18:30 – 20:00 h
At the University of Zurich, Rämistrasse 71, 8006 Zurich, KOL-G-201 (Aula)
Modern societies are orientated towards progress. However, experiences of loss fundamentally disappoint the positive future expectations of these societies. To what extent do experiences of loss now occur on a massive scale in the late modern age? What legitimisation problems arise as a result and how can society deal with them?
