Die Moralisierung der Gesellschaft

Social transactions give rise to rules and norms, from legal systems to states, from aesthetic norms to Swiss politeness. Central to this are moral norms, which are becoming increasingly politically dominant. This has good as well as dark sides. Among the dark sides is a sometimes ludicrous identity politics that is incoherent and drifts into an unenlightened attitude. How, then, do we overcome this in order to rediscover the genuine value of difference?
