Member of the Bundestag and Deputy Chairman of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group
Jens Spahn was first elected to the German Bundestag in 2002. From 2009 to 2015, he was health policy spokesman for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag, and from July 2015 to March 2018, he was Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Finance. On March 14, 2018, he was sworn in as Federal Minister of Health. Since the end of 2021, Spahn has been deputy chairman of the parliamentary group and responsible for the economy, energy, climate protection, SMEs and tourism.
