Paul Bulcke has worked for Nestlé for more than 40 years; he has been its Chairman since 2017. The world’s largest food company can celebrate great successes, but it is also permanently exposed. The company, which operates in nearly 90 countries worldwide and employs more than 270,000 people, is not only a major employer, but also a significant food supplier for numerous people, and has been for decades. For several years, the company has been committed to the principle of Creating Shared Value; and at this year’s Annual General Meeting, it submitted the multi-billion dollar Climate Action Plan to its shareholders for a vote. What makes an international company successful? What responsibilities does it have? Why is the Group subject to constant attacks – is there a recipe for countering them? And what is the president’s position on politics? Katja Gentinetta will discuss these questions with Paul Bulcke.
