As it remains difficult to reach long-term and long-lasting political solutions to many conflicts, a more fundamental reorientation is necessary for humanitarian work, too. The dynamics in conflict regions and in international politics, as well as the digital transformation of our societies, change the conditions for populations to obtain protection and help. The President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Peter Maurer, will outline the key areas in which we have to move our compass if we are to appropriately meet humanitarian needs.
