Short Bio

Urs Rohner, born in 1959, has been Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Chairman's and Governance Committee of Credit Suisse Group AG since April 2011. From 2009 to April 2011, he was a full-time Vice Chairman of the Board and a member of the Chairman's and Governance Committee and the Risk Committee of Credit Suisse Group. Urs Rohner was a member of the Executive Boards of Credit Suisse Group and Credit Suisse from 2004 to 2009, serving as General Counsel Credit Suisse Group (2004 to 2009) and Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel Credit Suisse (2006 to 2009). Prior to joining Credit Suisse Group, Urs Rohner was Chairman of the Executive Board of ProSiebenMedia AG from 2000 to 2004 and, following the merger with Sat1, Chairman of the Executive Board of ProSieben- Sat.1 Media AG. From 1990 to 1999 Urs Rohner worked for the law firm Lenz & Staehelin Rechtsanwälte in Zurich, since 1992 as a partner. From 1988 to 1989 he worked for the law firm Sullivan & Cromwell in New York. Urs Rohner graduated in law from the University of Zurich and is admitted to the bar of the Canton of Zurich and the State of New York.
