Following the great industrial revolutions of the 19th and 20th centuries, a third movement is emerging. This is fuelled by the interplay between communication technologies and renewable energies. Many people of the future will generate their own "green energy" and have it distributed by intelligent networks. On the one hand, this will have far-reaching consequences for the structures of work and responsibility; on the other, it will change both the world of work and life in terms of hierarchies and processes of influence and power.
