Truboy. Mein Sommer mit Truman Capote

The famous American writer Truman Capote ("Breakfast at Tiffany's", "In Cold Blood") wrote like a man possessed since his childhood. He was eccentric, homosexual and addicted. He was long the favourite of high society, but was then disowned and died in Los Angeles in 1984, a month before his sixtieth birthday.

Author Anuschka Roshani has been following Capote's footsteps for many years and met numerous companions (including his friend, his dance partner at Studio 54, his editor and his almost-adopted daughter). In conversation with Elke Heidenreich about her book "Truboy" (Kein & Aber 2024), she provides insights into Capote's life and work and talks about her search for clues, which ultimately even led her to the fragment of the lost novel "Answered Prayers".
