It was and remains in Switzerland’s interest to forge alliances in order to fight for both our independence and our prosperity. However, it is also in our interest to set boundaries where we consider these to be necessary. Globalisation has put an end to the logic of the two Cold War blocs. Everything is moving more quickly and less safely, whether in business or in politics. Today more than ever, it is crucial that Switzerland finds the right compromise for our interests between boundaries and cooperation.
