Professor Lars P. Feld

Professor of Economic Policy at the University of Freiburg

Short Bio

Lars P. Feld, born in 1966, is a university professor of economics, in particular economic policy and the economics of order, at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, as well as the director of the Walter Eucken Institut. He is also a member of the German Council of Economic Experts, member of the Academic Advisory Council of the Federal Ministry of Finance, member of the Advisory Board to the Stability Council, spokesman for the Kronberger Kreis (Scientific Advisory Board of the Market Economy Foundation), and full member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina (National Academy of Sciences).

In November 2017, Lars P. Feld received an honorary doctorate from the University of Lucerne. He is the recipient of the Gustav Stolper Prize (2021) from the Verein für Socialpolitik, which is considered the most important award for economists in German-speaking countries. In 2023, Lars P. Feld was awarded the University Medal of the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the Friedrich List Medal of the Federal Association of German Economists and Business Economists (bdvb).
