Short Bio

Dr. h.c. Erwin Teufel, born on 4 September 1939 in Rottweil, after attending primary school and the Albertus Magnus Gymnasium in Rottweil, trained as a senior civil servant, elected mayor of the town of Spaichingen in 1964, elected to the Baden-Württemberg state parliament in 1972. From 1972 to 1978 Political State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior and State Secretary for Environmental Protection, 1978 to 1991 Chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the Landtag. From 22 January 1991 to 20 April 2005 Minister President of the State of Baden-Württemberg.
