Since Russia’s brutal war of aggression against Ukraine, the global economy has been facing capital dangers and challenges, which are becoming even more acute in view of the conflict between China and Taiwan. How do we deal with the dangers, especially in the free West, but also from a global perspective, and what opportunities can we expect again in the near future?

Short Bio

Adam Tooze, born in 1967, is Professor of Contemporary History and Director of the European Institute at Columbia University in New York. Previously, he researched and taught at Cambridge and Yale for many years. He is the author of numerous studies on (economic) history, and his work has won many awards. Born in London, he grew up in England and Heidelberg and later spent several years pursuing research at the Free University of Berlin, so he also speaks good German, which will therefore be the language of the event.
