‘Continue straight ahead’, ‘Turn here’ or: ‘Route is being recalculated’? The ‘bilateral approach’ provides Switzerland with customised access to the EU Single Market. In order to maintain this successful course, Switzerland is negotiating an institutional agreement with the EU. Parallel to this, the UK is attempting to sail round the array of obstacles thrown up by BREXIT, which also has an influence on our navigation. Negotiations are ongoing. As part of this lecture, the Foreign Minister will provide an overview of the various interests involved.
