Since the global economic and financial crisis, Switzerland has performed relatively well compared to most other economies despite losses. What are the preconditions for this performance? However, the turbulence within the eurozone and the future of the European Union are issues that also have a massive impact on Switzerland and - if the situation worsens - could put it under considerable pressure. What room for manoeuvre does the Swiss Confederation have, not only economically but also politically? How can the country's economic strength continue to be successfully led and maintained into the 21st century?
